JONATHAN KETLEY B.App.Sc. (Oen) Adelaide

Born and educated in Adelaide.
Bachelor of Applied Science in Oenology - University of Adelaide, (Roseworthy Campus). Jonathan initially became interested in the wine industry through an uncle who had his own vineyard at Springton in the hills above the Barossa Valley, where he spent many years of school holidays labouring in the vineyard.

After gaining his Degree in Oenology, Jonathan commenced employment as a Winemaker at Loxton in South Australia's Riverland region Working closely with legendary winemakers such as Kevin Pfeiffer, Alan Harris and Peter Taylor. This was the ideal opportunity to learn about the Australian Wine Industry from the top, at the most advanced technological level.

Jonathan transferred to the Barossa Valley and commenced work at the Penfolds Nuriootpa Winery and then Seppeltsfield Winery, as Winemaker, then Senior Winemaker, working with James Godfrey and Dean Kraehenbuhl.

In 1999, Jonathan headed to California to work with Ian Shepherd at Southcorps' Californian joint venture, Seven Peaks.

In 2001 he jumped at the opportunity to work for a small and up-and-coming producer in McLaren Vale, Merrivale Wines, now Tapestry McLaren Vale.
